They lack nothing. Except someone who listens.

A Gift for Parents Who Have Everything

They lack nothing. Except someone who listens.

Every year it is the same round: birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, New Year. And every year the same shortlist: a massage chair, supplements, a nice dinner, a red packet. And every time, the same reply: "don't buy me anything."

They mean it. That generation genuinely lacks nothing. What they lack is something else entirely: someone willing to sit down and listen, properly, to their own story.

Why listening is a gift

Whatever you buy them, they save it, unused, for good. But ask "what were you like as a child?" and actually stay to listen, and they will talk for an hour. Being taken seriously is the thing that generation has the least of.

Turning that into an object

Record what they tell you, and shape it into a book: their story, their photographs, and beside every quoted line a QR code that plays their own voice saying it.

The gift has three layers. During the interviews, it is company. On delivery day, it is a surprise. For the decades after, it is what stays for the grandchildren.

Elders who have received one rarely say "you shouldn't have bought this." Because it is the one thing they could never buy for themselves: a book in which they are the subject.

When to start

There is no need to wait for a birthday. The only deadline on this gift is that they still remember, and can still tell it. One question tonight is already a start.

Let's talk. No decision needed today.
